30: A sense of adventure no sense of direction - could a title of a book be more relevant to where I currently am in life?  At the age of 30 I decided to leave my friends and family, quit my secure and well paid job in London during a scorching hot summer of crippling recession and head as far away as I could get to be with a man I barely know and get a job in a chilly ski town frozen by the economic downturn.  2 months in: I am jobless, almost penniless and very cold. On the plus side my skiing is improving, my boyfriend is not a weirdo and it is an ADVENTURE!

I am proud to be the first bearer of The Traveling 30.  I have carried him to Queenstown New Zealand, with a (short little stop in LAX Airport) and he has now been safely delivered to the Manager of a Backpackers to send him on his way!

Booky30 Begins! 07/08/2009

In May 2009, a brand spanking new copy of '30: A Sense of Adventure and No Sense of Direction' was smuggled onto a plane from London, England to New Zealand.

Inside the cover was a note requesting each person who comes upon it to a) write a note & take a photo of them with the book on their travels & b) try to pass it to someone who can carry it to another country in the hope of the book travelling 30 countries itself.

The books progress (or distinct lack of) & stories behind it will be keenly followed on this blog.

If you've picked it up, please send any stories & photos via the 'contact' tab or email enquiries@thirty30.co.uk
